Katharine DeBrecht

Katharine is a political commentator, freelance writer and the author of the popular Help! Mom! children’s book series. 

Katharine has been a frequent guest contributor on Fox News discussing conservative family values, appearing on shows such as The O’Reilly Factor, Fox & Friends, Fox News Live and The Live Desk.   She has also made appearances on Sinclair and MSNBC on shows such as Coast to Coast and The Situation with Tucker Carlson. Her books were also profiled on Hardball with Chris Matthews, CNN’s Headline News, The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Katharine has appeared on over 500 radio shows across the country, including several nationally syndicated radio shows such as The Michael Reagan Show, Fox News Radio, The G. Gordon Liddy Show, Joseph Farrah, Tammy Bruce, Alan Colmes, Culture Shocks with Barry Lynn, Air America, NPR, XM Radio and Sirius.  She has also appeared on radio shows in Canada, London, Ireland and Australia.  Cited as refreshing and entertaining, Katharine is frequently requested for repeat appearances to discuss other current issues.

A freelance writer, Katharine’s opinion pieces have been printed in newspapers across the country, including The Los Angeles Times, and on-line magazines such as Human Events and World Net Daily.   She is often asked to comment on issues for print media.  Her comments have been cited in Newsweek, Child Magazine, The Nation, The Chicago Sun-Times and Congressional Quarterly among others.

Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed! reached number one on the Barnes and Noble website fall of 2005 and was cited by The New York Times as one of the top 20 most blogged about books of 2005, with top bloggers such as The Huffington Post, Andrew Sullivan, the Daily Kos, Lucianne Goldberg, Captains Quarters, Free Republic and Right Wing News among several others citing her works. 

In addition to radio and television, Katharine frequently lectures on conservative family values throughout the Carolinas to several Republican Women’s groups, Rotary and other conservative organizations.

Katharine is an out-spoken critic of the liberal agenda pushed in schools, the destructive effects of Hollywood on American culture, the attack on the American family and religion and the double-standard placed on conservatives.  She is frequently asked to comment on current political issues such as security, elections and celebrity culture.  Her comments have earned her harsh criticism from the left and accolades from the right.

She currently resides with her husband and three children in South Carolina.
